John Deere Foundation Awards $1 Million to World Food Program USA
Today, the John Deere Foundation announced a $1 million donation to World Food Program USA to combat global food insecurity and address the staggering rise of acute hunger exacerbated by the crisis in Ukraine.
Half of the grant will support the global humanitarian work of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), with the other half going to the organization’s Innovation Accelerator, which sources, supports, and scales high-impact innovations to achieve zero hunger.
Interfaith Youth Core Rebrands as Interfaith America to Expand Mission to Build Civic Bridges and Help Heal our Nation
The Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) today announced its official rebrand to Interfaith America, the next step in the organization’s mission to build bridges of greater understanding and cooperation between people of different faiths, worldviews, and traditions. Supported by a diverse set of philanthropic organizations, including a $6M gift from Mackenzie Scott, Interfaith America will serve as the premier interfaith organization in the United States. Founded in 2002, Interfaith America will be celebrating its 20 years of bridge-building work throughout this year.
CAESARS FOUNDATION DONATES MORE THAN $3.3 MILLION TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE U.S.
Caesars Entertainment has shared details on a $3.3 million donation to dozens of national and local non-profit organizations through the company’s corporate giving platform, the Caesars Foundation. This year’s recipients include a first-ever partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America and a donation to Meals on Wheels for the 20th consecutive year. The Caesars Foundation also gave to long time partners Clean the World Foundation, International Center for Responsible Gaming, National Park Trust and others. The gifts focus on organizations that fall into Caesars Entertainment’s core values including non-profits focusing on responsible gaming, sustainability and diversity, equity and inclusion.
HONORBRIDGE TO UTILIZE SPECIALIST DIRECT TO ACCELERATE ORGAN DONATION
HonorBridge, a North Carolina based organ procurement organization (OPO), has selected Specialist Direct to improve the speed and accuracy of organ diagnostics in order to increase organ recovery rates, reduce organ discards, and save more lives. HonorBridge will utilize Specialist Direct’s telepathology transplant solutions within its hospital cases and future organ recovery center.
Children’s Home Society Celebrates National Foster Care Month
Today there are over 12,000 children in foster care in North Carolina. Sadly, these children must leave their homes due to crisis situations, and they look to loving adults in our communities for the things their own families are unable to provide at the time. The need is great for foster families to support these children during the transition, while they await reunification with their family of origin, guardianship with relatives, or adoption.
